A thousand country roads

The flow of the story is really slow for me - a story of an old man. Sometimes I just wanted to put it aside. Yet, I found it surprising that I read every single word till the end of the book. It's definitely not a romantic love, as in "The bridges of Madison County", that pulling me back, but characteristics of Robert Kincaid. He is a man of "a thousand country roads" who had free spirit, had followed nothing but his biggest passion for taking photography till he died. I am always curious about those kind of people, those only live for what they wanted. They are happy with standards defined by themselves. How many people among us belong to this group? I am wondering...
